How Chiropractic Care Helps with Back Pain from Multicare Health Clinic

How a Chiropractor Treats Back Pain

Manipulations:  Manipulations are going to be an important part of what we do. We use these treatments to shift the vertebrae in the back to make sure they are properly aligned. If the spine is properly aligned, this allows the rest of the treatment plan to proceed accordingly.

Decompression: We may also recommend that someone facing back pain, undergoes a decompression procedure. This procedure is done to increase the amount of space that is present between the vertebrae. A chiropractor will place a gentle amount of traction on the back to stretch the bones slightly. This can be used to treat back pain that might have developed from a pinched nerve or a herniated disc.

Physical Therapy: We will also work with patients to come up with exercises that can be done to increase the amount of structural support that is present throughout the back. This will target the muscles, tendons, and ligaments throughout the back. This can prevent injuries and discomfort from arising in the future.
